Rita Clarke was the winner of our “Teach Your Children” Story Slam! Rita told the story of how her mother valued knowing who her children were and who they were not. So much so that when it came down to it, she was able to confidently stand by Rita and defend her when she needed an advocate.
Our “Teach Your Children” Story Slam was a mix of good laughs and truly sentimental tales. First time storytellers ruled the second half of the evening and they did not disappoint. From tales of hoo-hoos and embarrassing questions that kids ask to a father’s immense pride in his daughter, our evening was filled with amazing stories. Trevor Jacobs talked about the challenges of being a “kidiot.” Lora Rublesky explained how children are like pancakes. And Caitlin Downs taught a pivotal lesson about primary research and cat calling.
Thanks to all our many talented storytellers, the judges, and everyone who came out to cheer on our story tellers, and be a part of our storytelling community.
Our next Story Slam is themed "Scars" and will be held on Tuesday, October 22nd starting at 7 PM. Make sure to save the date and order your tickets online in advance!
